Welcome!

Please feel free to post any comments regarding how you are effected by the increasing ground water level.

The goal of this blog is to engage the City of Fircrest into installing a drainage system in our vicinity to promote a more livable area to reside, as well as stabilizing our property values.

Neighboring Homes

No rain in a week, and this isn't from washing a car.  Water is seeping out of cracks in a cement driveway.  Elevation is about two feet ABOVE our house.

Note power pole location.  About ten feet from the base, in the street, is where City of Fircrest brought in dump truck loads of dirt to fill in a SINKHOLE!!

This week, June 20, 2011, the City of Fircrest is placing a drain pipe along the south side of Monterey Lane for the purpose of routing some of this water to the Leach Creek Holding Basin.  It is my belief, that this will have little effect or no effect on the water table.  The water being re-routed was already going to the same storm drain.

The only positive effect is that it will keep the water from flowing on top of the pavement, which created an extremely hazardous, icy condition this past winter for this cul-de-sac.  Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the effort on behalf of the City of Fircrest but this will not remedy the ongoing problem affecting all of our homes.

I pointed out the spring-water flowing on my property, to an employee of the City of Fircrest, and was not given any indication that the City intends to take any further actions to reduce the groundwater level, of this area.

Once again, the purpose of this blog is to engage the City of Fircrest in a workable plan to reduce the groundwater level of this area.  Until then...DON'T UNPLUG YOUR SUMP PUMPS!!
